After news of the Hallyu wave hitting the Evening Standard and The Guardian, news of Rain’s enlistment hit today’s Metro.

“Pop sensation Rain bade a tearful farewell to his fans as he entered the army boot camp yesterday. The 29-year-old singer and actor (pictured) will spend the next 21 months serving his mandatory national service. He saluted hundreds of his devotees, many from China and Japan, before slipping inside a military base in the northern city of Uijeongbu. ‘Thank you for ten years of love’, he told them. Entertainers have tried to dodge the draft in the past but critics believe it could boost Rain’s popularity.”

It also hit the BBC’s website.

What do you think? Do you think that news of the Kpop world will be popping up in the newpapers more often?
