Last weekend on February 16th, RoM – or Revolution of Music – held their first event. The event w a live acoustic night with performances by many K-pop fans, of with English and Korean music. Although the plans for an open mic and karaoke didn’t fall through, the event definitely wasn’t left lacking.

Perhaps around 50 fans showed up to the event, which started at 2PM. Although we didn’t get there ourselves until nearer 3PM, the performances we did hear were great. A wide variety of songs where performed, from Far East Movement’s Rockateer to Block B’s Romantically, and almost all performances were backed by guitar from one hard working event host! And of course, we can’t forget the first performance of YF’s original song.

The only problem we found, was people talking over the performances, often making it hard to hear them. But we know the organisers are aware now and have told people to keep quiet for next time.

All in all it was a great event for its first run, and future RoM events will only be better as they continue to find what works best for them. The event had a very cosy feel – partly due to the temperature! – and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves a lot. So if this sounds like an event for you, check out their Facebook page for news of future events. For only £2.50 (which also entered you into a K-pop merch raffle) it was definitely worth attending.
