So what will be shown this year? The festival will open on with Hide and Seek starring Son Hyun Joo and directed by Huh Jung. The closing gala will present Boomerang Family which was directed by Song Hae Sung and stars Youn Yuh Jung, Park Hae Il and Yoon Je Moon.

This year’s line-up will also include a retrospective on award-winning filmmaker and producer Kang Woo Suk whose works tend to focus on social issues and domestic concerns. His films Public Enemy, Fists of Legend, Moss, Public Enemy Returns and Silmido will be introduced as homage to his contribution to Korean film. Kang Woo Suk‘s collaborator Sol Kung Gu will also present a preview of Lee Joon-Ik‘s recent film Wish that was based on a real life shocking crime in Korea.
