The Christmas period has come to a close and the New Year, and 2016, are nearly upon us. Many people use this time to plan for the year ahead and to make resolutions aiming to improve themselves.

This time of year is also a time for reflection, and of course, reflection requires us to look back over the past year in its entirety and look over what has happened. You have probably come across many posts online and programmes on television counting down ‘The Best/Worst of 2015’ already. So, in keeping with tradition, here’s our brief look back over our ‘Weekly Idol‘ articles of 2015.

Our ‘Weekly Idol’ feature aims to give you a short and sweet, yet hopefully, fairly comprehensive overview of K-Pop idols and groups (both old and new). So, whether you are entirely new to the world of K-Pop, or you just want to get to know a certain soloist or group but are unsure of where to start, our ‘Weekly Idol’ posts are intended to be a helpful resource for you.

These posts often include coverage from the artists’ debut right up to their present, some extra slices of interesting information about TV appearances, scandals etc. and a selection of their best known music videos and tracks.

In 2015, our writers aimed to choose an eclectic mix from the K-Pop genre. We had some well-known acts that have been going for quite a long time like PSY, Girls’ Generation, Brown Eyed Girls and IU as well as some newer groups like iKON, Red Velvet, Twice and GFriend.

We also covered what all the fuss around EXID was about, some more rock-orientated groups like F.T. Island and Lunafly, and some (arguably) less-covered groups such as DAY6 and Cross Gene.

Here is a complete list of artists used for our 2015 ‘Weekly Idol’ features:
