Sunwoo Jung-A is one of Korea’s hottest female singer-songwriters right now, and she’s teamed up with CNBLUE’s Jung Yonghwa for her latest single.

sja2In recent years she’s proved herself a capable lyricist, composer and producer winning awards such as Artist of the Year and Best Pop Album of the Year at the Korean Music Awards.
Her list of hits include work for GD&TOP, Lee Hi, and 2NE1; and collaborations with MC Mong and San E.

Her 2015 single Spring Girls was received well by fans and critics alike, with its blending of catchy modern dance-pop and vintage 1930s Korean music melodies.

sja12016 sees the start of a new project for Sunwoo Jung-A, Empathy.
Teaming up with CNBLUE’s Jung Yonghwa the pair have worked closely to create two tracks, Fireworks is the first half of their collaboration. This duet has long been in the works, Sunwoo developing her idea over time, and sharing these with Jung.

Fireworks is an interesting track. It embodies dance pop, yet is sensitive and emotion filled. The melodies are laid out by both complimentary voices with a melancholic beauty, alongside an electronic, up-tempo rhythm.

The second half of the collaboration was led by Jung Yonghwa, Hello. Hello has more acoustic vibes, befitting of the CNBLUE member, but continues the project’s depth of emotion.

Empathy is a beautiful collaboration that has the ability to evoke feelings of love, and contentment. You should definitely take time to listen to Fireworks and Hello this week!
