As always, K-Pop sees a slew of new groups trying to make their mark, but October 2016 saw two dance groups going head to head. One housed by CUBE Entertainment, and the other, the first male dance group from FNC Entertainment – who are more well known for K-Pop bands such as CN:Blue and FT Island.

Hailing from the trainee system, NEOZ SCHOOL and the show, D.O.B: Dance or Band; the nine members, Youngbin, Inseong, Jaeyoon, Dawon, Zuho, Rowoon, Taeyang, Hwiyoung and Chani, formed the dance team who would ultimately become SF9 (Sensation Feeling Nine).

FNC Entertainment has only seen one dance group in their roster in the form of AOA, so the boys pay special attention to their routines which show during their debut song, Fanfare. The group were locked in media ‘rivalry’ as their debut was just days before CUBE’s newest addition, Pentagon. However, at the end of 2016, Pentagon already saw two promotion cycles while SF9 released Fanfare and their Holiday single, So Beautiful.

Now the wait is over for Fantasies, as the boys have  revved up for their first official comeback this week, with the release of their new single, Roar. Alongside the the powerful dance track, five more songs are now available under their first mini-album, Burning Sensation, which is now available on iTunes and Spotify.

Fun Fact: Chani made his first ever appearance in K-Pop in 2006 in DBSK’s Balloons, alongside ASTRO’s Moonbin and iKON’s Chanwoo. Look out for Mini-Yoochun!
