Infinite’s former rapper Hoya has released his first-ever solo track, Angel. The smooth and sexy track has been banned by KBS due to its adult-themed content.

Angel is a pre-release track from Hoya’s first solo album, Shower. The album will be released online on 28th March, and in shops on the 29th. It’s his first release under his new label, Glorious Entertainment. Another preview was posted less than an hour ago!

Hoya’s real name is Lee Hodong. He changed his surname to Howon before his debut with Infinite in 2010, to avoid confusion with another celeb, Kang Hodong. Prior to signing with Woollim Entertainment and Infinite, Hoya was a trainee at JYP Entertainment. He dropped out of high school in order to pursue his dreams of being a professional performer.

In Infinite, he soon made a name for himself as the band’s rapper and unstoppable dance machine. He formed a subunit with Jang Dongwoo called Infinite H. He also appeared in the popular tvN drama Reply 1997, playing a schoolboy secretly in love with his best friend.

While he’s acted in other dramas too, it’s Hoya’s dance skills that have captured public attention, and he often updates his instagram with personal dance videos. In 2016 he gave a moving and sexy performance on the ‘love’ themed episode of dance show Hit the Stage.

Hoya contributed lyrics, rap and music writing to Infinite’s music from 2014 onwards. One particular highlight was the track One Day from the album Infinite Only, which he wrote and produced with Rphabet’s Razer and Infinite’s Jang Dongwoo.

Under Glorious Entertainment, he plans to write, record and release more of his original music along with new acting roles.
