One of the largest dance festivals in Korea is in town this week – the Busan International Dance Festival, celebrating its 14th year.

The festival is a showcase for many kinds of dance – yes, there will be K-Pop inspired stuff, but also modern, ballet and many more. Around 45 dance teams from 15 countries will take part along with Korean dancers. Look out for performers from the US, Vietnam, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Singapore, Austria, Israel, Italy, India, Japan, China, Finland, and Hungary.Since 2009, Arts Korea has run an international choreography competition at the festival that encourages amateur choreographers to show their talents.

The festival is on until 9 June and there’s a variety of shows each day. The outdooor stage makes a spectacular setting for both daytime and evening shows.
