There’s been several highly anticipated K-Pop comebacks this week including Girls Generation leader Taeyeon as well as the YG girl group BlackPink! Appearances by BTOB, Block B member Park Kyung and rapper Grace are also present on this Release Round Up!

  1. Code Kunst Ft. Tablo, Colde – Rain Bird (Released: 10/06/18)

This slow R&B track isn’t  too dissimilar to Daniel Caesar’s ‘Transgressions Song’. It’s calm and soothing, but Tablo’s initial slightly harsher delivery offers versatility and different tonal textures.

2. BlackPink – DDU-DU DDU-DU (Released: 15/06/18)

Clocking in over 95 million YouTube views in less than a week and making a dent in the Official UK Charts, their lead single for their Square Up album is proving incredibly popular. With a signature TEDDY beat, it’s a punchy track.

3. Taeyeon – ‘Something New’ (Released: 18/06/18)

The lead single from her third mini-album of the same name is a great example of how the vocalist is willing to try something new. The groovy bass-line following the synth-heavy acapella introduction is velvety and smooth.

4. BTOB – Only One for Me (Released: 18/06/18)

This ballad could be part of a drama OST! It’s sunny and warm; almost as warm as the weather the UK has been experiencing recently! Are you ready for the summer yet?

5. Grace – Because of You (Released: 19/6/18)

On a slower (and more surprising) note, rapper Grace has turned down the speed a notch on her new ballad, ‘Because of You’.

6. NANO Ft. Yezi – Maladjustment (Released: 22/06/18)

The vintage-aesthetic to this music video contrasts to the more contemporary feel of the production on this track. The warm-palette based colour scheme also reminds us of summery sunsets!

7. Park Kyung Ft. Sumin – Instant (Released: 22/06/18)

In Block B, Park Kyung may be known for his heavy-hitting raps, but in this song, he matches some sadder reflections to a happy-go-lucky melody.
