British news provider ITN, which produces news programmes for ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5, released a video yesterday through their website, youtube, MSN video and twitter pages about the band’s first American concert. It’s a minute and a half long and features an introduction to the band including a clip of their I Love You music video, clips from interviews of CL and Minzy and details of their upcoming American debut and collaboration with Will.i.am.
British-based news agency, Reuters also released a similar video report on 2NE1 yesterday.
Although 2NE1 have no officially announced plans as of yet to promote in the UK, it seems that they are already beginning to catch the attention of the British press. Surely this can only be a good sign for the band that they and other K-pop artists will be able to make in roads into the UK music scene? Especially with labelmates BIGBANG due to perform in the UK next year and PSY’s Gangnam Style music video becoming a huge viral hit all over the world. ITN certainly thinks so as their tweet read “K-Pop sensation 2NE1 are set to take over the West”.
