Here are the Top 40 albums from the beginning of September.
The groups are taking over the charts at the beginning of this month! 4Minute move up 2 places to grab the #1 spot. The ladies even have a new entry at #36 with Hit Your Heart!
The group really taking over the chart as we start the month are SM giants Super Junior. Sexy Free & Single may have disappeared from the chart after placing #8 last week, but its repackage SPY has rocketed in to #2. With it comes their debut Super Junior 05 at #4, Sorry Sorry at #32, Mr Simple at #34, and through some crafty genre labelling, the M-Pop album Break Down from Super Junior-M at #35.
YG also make an impression on the charts with BIGBANG. #9 & 10 on the chart are both claimed by the group, with their Still Alive repackage and Big Show 2011 Live Album. The original release of the Alive album also charts at #28.
BIGBANG leader G Dragon also makes a mark at #29 with his debut Heartbreaker. G Dragon is a regular feature here at UnitedKpop! If you’ve seen his new music video Crooked you might be interested in our Get The Look article based on his fashion in the mv.
The men of JYP have dropped down in the charts but have still managed to keep both versions of their album in the Top 40. 2PM chart at #15 and #26 with Grown and its Grand Edition.
So without further ado, the UKP K-pop Top 40 albums…

The chart is based on real numbers and solid facts, using a simple combination of complex formulae to find out the best of the best in the UK for K-Pop. Similar to the Korean charts, the UK K-Pop Chart uses sales numbers, votes from the fans and broadcast exposure, to calculate automatically without bias, the Top 40 K-Pop singles and albums in the UK.
The album chart is now supported by data from HMV.
If you’re curious about how the chart works there are some interesting facts over on our UKP Chart page, here you can find out how the chart is compiled and, if you’ve got your thinking cap on, there’s even some maths in there!
This chart does not include votes, however we are working towards bringing this feature to the site as soon as we can so that you can have even more influence on the chart right here!
