The very energetic rookie K-Pop group Crayon Pop were recently featured on 4music!

Crayon Pop’s recent single ‘Bar Bar Bar’ gained the spotlight in the piece.
It is mentioned that the girls are fond of helmets and matching outfits and they are praised for their jumping ability.

Rather amusingly, a few ladies from the Heat! magazine office are also given the chance to try out the jumping dance for themselves, though most of them look a little less than eager to do so.

Given Crayon Pop’s crazy style, reminiscent of the ‘Power Rangers’, it is easy to see why the group would have such a novelty for UK viewers. That stereotype of the larger-than-life Asian world definitely comes to life in Crayon Pop and it is this quality that often leaves UK listeners in awe (especially if they are not as used to the culture as many of us K-Pop fans are!)

PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’ was crazy enough to get the world’s attention, do you think Crayon Pop have what it takes to do the same?

[UPDATE]
Heat! magazine’s website also featured the Crayon Pop video in their ‘Hotlist’ which the writer Joel Golby described as containing:

“…basically all the best things (pop music, clever dogs, more pop music, jumping up and down) in one tightly-packed showbiz-happy hour.”

The girls’ dancing skills were praised again along with every other “K-Pop minstrel”. Of course, PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’ was mentioned yet again.

You can read the full Hotlist article here.

Given Crayon Pop’s featuring on 4music and subsequent coverage on the Heatworld website, perhaps a bright future in the UK awaits this energetic K-Pop group!
