Welcome to the second instalment of the Official UKP K-pop Album Chart.

We’ve seen some major changes in the album chart in the three weeks since we released the first chart. So what have you been buying in the past few weeks?

Just as our original chart showed UK Kpop listeners don’t always go for the latest releases. Hitting the top spot at the end of August we have 2NE1’s 2nd Mini Album from 2011. Could their new releases such as Do You Love Me, which aren’t yet compiled on an album, have UK Blackjacks craving their earlier music?

After a comfy spot at #2 in mid August BEAST are knocked down 2 places to #4 to make way for fellow male idol group Infinite. Infinite will be making their way to London later this year for their One Great Step tour. Sub-unit Infinite H also manage to sneak onto the chart at #19. Infinite H fans might like our new weekly article Alternate Listening Tuesday which ‘Special Girl’ collaborator Bumkey is the week one featured artist.

Hyuna might have dropped out of the Top 20 completely after holding #1 in our last chart but her group 4Minute have climbed two places to #3 with Name Is 4Minute.
SISTAR have a similar story, their own album not climbing to reach the top 20, but their sub-unit SISTAR19 making a new entry at #6.

Could Lee Hyori really have three tracks in the UKP K-pop Singles Chart and not place in the album chart? All hail the Queen at #16.

Proving that 2PM are one of the hottest groups in Kpop their Grown albums chart at #9 and #13.

G Dragon’s 2009 debut solo album just about makes it into the Top 20, has his recent visit to London got VIP’s catching up with his discography during the excitement for Coup D’etat’s release?

So without further ado, the UKP K-pop Top 20 albums…

The chart is based on real numbers and solid facts, using a simple combination of complex formulae to find out the best of the best in the UK for K-Pop. Similar to the Korean charts, the UK K-Pop Chart uses sales numbers, votes from the fans and broadcast exposure, to calculate automatically without bias, the Top 40 K-Pop singles and albums in the UK.
The album chart is now supported by data from HMV.

If you’re curious about how the chart works there are some interesting facts over on our UKP Chart page, here you can find out how the chart is compiled and, if you’ve got your thinking cap on, there’s even some maths in there!

This chart does not include votes, however we are working towards bringing this feature to the site as soon as we can so that you can have even more influence on the chart right here!

What do you think of the album chart?
