BIGBANG just became the first K-pop group to hit 7 million YouTube subscribers, making them the 3rd most subscribed K-pop channel in the world, edged out by labelmate Psy at 9 million subs and SMTOWN who recently exceeded 10 million.
They’ve even beat out British pop favourites such as Little Mix – who are fans of K-pop – and Jessie J, who sit at 6 million and 5.7 million subscribers respectively.
The boys’ YouTube videos, which include MVs, teasers, performances and more, exceed 3 billion views in total. On March 13th Daesung, under the pseudonym ‘D-LITE’ released his solo MV for ‘D-Day’, within 14 hours it has already reached half a million views.
The next most subscribed K-pop group is their former labelmates 2NE1, boasting 3.5 million subscribers even after sadly disbanding last year. BTS also make it into the Top 10 with BigHit’s channel sitting at a cool 3.3 million subscribers.
