It hasn’t even been a week since BLACKPINK released Kill This Love and they’re already killing it in the UK!
Four days since its release, Kill This Love is set to make its highest UK debut at no.26, overtaking the Jonas Brothers’ new entry by five places. This is an amazing feat for the girl group, as they have beaten their own UK record. Their previous ranking in the UK Top 40 was their collaboration with Dua Lipa, Kiss and Make Up, which entered the chart at no.36.
Their European success isn’t going unnoticed by UK stars and media outlets. Little Mix’s Jade gushed over the video and shared that she wants to learn the choreography.
As well as this, BBC News shared an article on their record-breaking YouTube views. Kill This Love is the fastest music video to reach 100 million views. They’ve taken the top spot from PSY’s Gangnam Style. And that’s not all! The music video is also the highest number of views within 24hrs, beating Ariana Grande’s Thank You Next by 2.3 million views. This led Scott Mills to interview the girls on BBC Radio 1 yesterday. Check out the interview here (from 2:46:00).
