Passing just over two months since the release of ‘How You Like That‘, BLACKPINK makes their second return of the year with a special summer collaboration single ‘Ice Cream‘ alongside American star Selena Gomez. In addition to this release, Dua Lipa has also dropped a remix of her album titled ‘Club Future Nostalgia (DJ Mix)’ with a revamped version of her collaboration song with BLACKPINK, ‘Kiss and Make Up‘ which you can stream here.

There had been a global sense of anticipation building up with rumors upon the announcement that an undisclosed artist would be penned for this song. Though there was a leak, it was eventually made public information by YG Entertainment over the revealed singer. Selena Gomez dropped her third studio album ‘Rare‘ at the beginning of the year, which hit the top spots at #1 in various countries and has millions of album and single sales under her belt.

This creation of this song was brought forward by American producer Tommy Brown, who is responsible for a collection of Ariana Grande hit tracks from ‘Thank U, Next‘, ‘7 Rings‘ and ‘Boyfriend‘ to name a few. The female chart topping artist in question is also credited as being a songwriter for ‘Ice Cream‘ alongside fellow artist Victoria Monét. As to be expected, BLACKPINK’s own primary producer Teddy was involved in to creative process with songwriter Bekuh Boom who has been credited on a handful of the girl group’s songs.

The track currently has garnered 46 #1‘s, including #3 in the UK, #1 in Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, Sweden, #2 in France, Portugal, Turkey and plentiful more Top 10 features on the UK European charts. This makes ‘Ice Cream‘ their third highest charting song in the UK, following ‘Sour Candy‘ at #1 and ‘How You Like That‘ at #2.
