Enter; London Korean Drama Club. The club was founded on the 15th of March this year – just under a month ago – after the founder had witnessed the revival of the Korean drama wave following the success of ‘My Love from Another Star’. With DramaFever launching in the UK around the same time, the founder saw an opportunity to help build a community for Korean dramas in the UK too.

So far the club has been focused on their blog, Daehan Drama, which provides the latest news and reviews on Korean dramas. As well as working away on their blog, LKDC have been negotiating partnerships with streaming platforms – like DramaFever – to bring special offers for their members. They’re also open to suggestions and participation from members, and looking for some contributors for Daehan Drama too!

This coming Tuesday, April 15th, marks their first official event. The meet up is to be held at Jubo in Shoreditch, London. The event is a dinner dedicated to the afore highly popular drama, ‘My Love from Another Star’ with character Jeon Ji-hyeon’s favourite dish, fried chicken and beer. The meal, also known as 치맥 (Chi-maek) is also popular amongst young Koreans on the weekends.

The meal will kick off at 7:30pm and will run until Jubo closes its doors (1:00am). Attendees will all receive a special 15 day free access to DramaFever’s newly launched UK site. However, you’ll want to be quick to confirm your place as there are only a few places left – though they may be able to negotiate more space should there be demand.
