Super Junior’s Ryeowook posted photos of London’s West End Gielgud Theatre, and himself holding tickets for their current show The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time today.

Despite being back in Korea already, he saw the show on the 12th October, Ryeowook brings us interesting news.

His tweet says:

I’m cast in theatre play <The Curious Incident of The Dog In The Night-Time> as Christopher ~^^ This time at London I saw the original <Curious Incident> and felt a lot. I will prepare well, please look forward to it a lot

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is based on British writer Mark Haddon’s award-winning novel about an autistic boys mission to discover who killed his neighbours dog, and was adapted for the stage by Simon Stephens. The production has won 7 Olivier Awards including Best Play in 2013.

The UK tour sees the role of protagonist Christopher played primarily by Siôn Daniel Young, (Kaffe Keating is his alternative) Young perfectly captures the novel’s lead character. With high functioning Aspergers Syndrome Christopher is a character that stands out in Young Adult fiction, and Young is able to make him do so on stage.

Its a visually stunning and unique stage production, set upon a minimal, digital set. Lights, illustration and actors bring the set to life.

It will be interesting to see if the play receives similarly positive reactions in South Korea, and how Ryeowook captures the character of Christopher.
