News Writers

News Writer

Purpose of Role

News writers are tasked with researching and writing about the latest news in Korean music and events in the UK and Europe in a timely manner.


No formal qualifications or experience are necessary but must be fluent in English and proficient at writing. Ability to work to short deadlines and write on a fast turn around. Must be able to be flexible in schedule and write multiple articles per week.

Please submit an example of your writing skills by providing a mock news article on a subject of your choice.

Social Media Coordinator

Purpose of Role

The UnitedKpop Social Media Coordinator will work closely with the Creative Director to improve the social media presence of UnitedKpop and UKP Magazine.

Working to develop regular social media content and plans for future content, the Social Media Coordinator will be a key driving force for UnitedKpop’s promotional voice.


No formal qualifications or experience are necessary but must be fluent in English and proficient at writing. Working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are essential. A basic understanding of analytics and social media tracking is preferable.

  • an idea for a regular social media feature
  • a short analysis of the UnitedKpop social media platforms, stating positives and negatives, and displaying a change you would implement


Purpose of Role

An Administrator would be working behind the scenes to ensure our team keeps running smoothly. From organising and managing the schedule to helping deal with staff queries, the administrative role is pivotal in keeping things ship shape. The role can be worked around other commitments and has the potential to rise in seniority within UnitedKpop as the administrator becomes more experienced.


No formal qualifications are necessary but great organisational and communication skills are. Fluency in English is essential as the role involves communicating essential information within the UKP team.

Magazine Designer

Purpose of Role

Our design team are the people who keep UnitedKpop looking sleek. Work mostly consists of designing content for UKP Magazine, but may extend to creating social media content.


No formal qualifications are necessary, but a good sense of design and basic knowledge of, and access to, InDesign is preferable.

We’ll be assessing the quality of previous work you submit. Please send 5 examples of your best work (does not need to be magazine-specific) so we can get an idea of your skills and also your style.

Editorial Writer

Purpose of Role

Are you an aspiring writer or journalist? Or simply passionate about writing?

Combine your love of writing and K-pop and help us deliver fresh content and the latest news to K-pop fans here in the UK and Europe; we’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic writer to join our team!

Work involves writing articles a minimum of once per week to a schedule. Easily workable around other commitments, ideal for students.


Fluency in English.

No formal qualifications required but must be proficient in writing.

We’ll be assessing the quality of previous work you submit. Please send an example of a creative piece you have written – this does not need to be based on any current content at UnitedKpop

Event Photographer

Purpose of Role

Are you an aspiring event or music photographer?

Combine your love of photography and Kpop to help us deliver high-quality coverage of the latest Kpop events here in the UK; we’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic photographer to join our team.

Work involves attending events and delivering a minimum of twelve photographs per event within forty-eight hours. Easily workable around other commitments, ideal for freelancers, experienced hobbyists or students.


London-based is preferable as we cannot currently cover the cost of travel.

Your own camera is essential.

The ability to shoot photographs in low light is a must.

Press access is not guaranteed to any UK-based Kpop event and cannot be guaranteed to a successful applicant.

UnitedKpop does not currently offer press assignment to freelance or agency photographers with no association wth UKP.

Video Editor


We’re seeking a video editor to join the small and very enthusiastic video editing team at UnitedKpop?

Are you a video editing marvel that can tackle time-sensitive materials with relish?
Do you have a passion for high quality production?
Do you find yourself thinking you could do a better finish on Music Bank’s graphics and transitions?

We need a video editor who can take raw footage and make it into a spectacle.
They will be dealing with some of the most exclusive interviews and access videos in K-Pop, seeing everything first.


We’ll be assessing the quality of previous work that you submit.


Purpose of Role

We are looking for a linguist fluent in both Korean and English.

This may be only written or spoken, and we will be assigning projects based on individual skill sets.
Work may include small note translations to interpreter work in person.


Fluency in Korean and English.

You do not have to be Korean.
