As October begins it’s clear that the return of BLOCK B is one of the hottest topics for UK Kpop fans.
BLOCK B have taken over the chart this week, not only do their title tracks chart, but every track on the album charts bar the instrumental. Straight in at the top of the chart is their return Be The Light written for their fans, the album version even charts again at #6. The album’s title track Very Good follows at #2, be sure to check out our review of this track. Hitting #3 is Park Kyung’s solo contribution to the album When Where What How featuring Jo Hyun Ah of Urban Zakapa, and to get every track from the new album into the chart at #4 we have Nice Day! For UK BBC this is a great start to ‘Blocktober’.
Follow their iTunes link and you’ll notice JPop group Perfume, at #5, have K-Pop listed as one of their genres. Fans are split over the new 80s electropop sounds on the girls’ Level 3 album but if you haven’t heard 1mm yet head over to Perfume’s YouTube to listen, you might find yourself rushing to download it too!
Another new entry into the top ten at #8 is UK favourites INFINITE with their not so subtle Samsung Galaxy advertising deal in Request. Watch the mv and you’ll see the Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Gear, Galaxy Camera – the items don’t even leave their hands as they dance. This endorsement wants you to BUY SAMSUNG, in case you hadn’t noticed, but there are plenty of other tech brands available of course
These big changes to the top of the charts mean big time UK Kpop Chart favourite Shadow by BEAST has taken another fall, this time to #10, slowly but surely we’re seeing this track move out of the main players list.
Interestingly this week we see a huge 35 place drop from Ladies’ Code with Pretty Pretty, they hang onto a chart place at #39. GD&TOP, Girls’ Day, SPICA and Get The KPop Look subject Teen Top, all re-enter the chart. G Dragon’s Crooked might have fallen 5 places to #17 but Coup D’etat climbs an impressive 11 to #13. Fancy getting your hands of G Dragon’s look from Crooked? UnitedKpop teamed up with COMME des VOGUĘDOWN to bring you a high street meets designer version of Get The Look that matches his style perfectly.
So without further ado, the UKP K-pop Top 40 songs…

The chart is based on real numbers and solid facts, using a simple combination of complex formulae to find out the best of the best in the UK for K-Pop. Similar to the Korean charts, the UK K-Pop Chart uses sales numbers, votes from the fans and broadcast exposure, to calculate automatically without bias, the Top 40 K-Pop singles and albums in the UK.
If you’re curious about how the chart works there are some interesting facts over on our UKP Chart page, here you can find out how the chart is compiled and, if you’ve got your thinking cap on, there’s even some maths in there!
This weeks chart does not include votes, however we are working towards bringing this feature to the site as soon as we can so that you can have even more influence on the chart right here!
