Alternate Listening Tuesday now comes to you as a backstage pass to alternative artists in the world of Kpop. These might be collaborators, producers, writers – you name it, they could be here.

Today we are going to take a look at a handful of DJs from the Seoul club scene, all that have created remixes of SHINee’s most recent title track, Everybody. The original track is a rather unique kpop track that takes on the markers of complextro, a genre born of dubstep.

One of the duos that worked on Everybody’s composition and production are DJ duo Coach & Sendo, regular SM Entertainment collaborators. Apart from on SHINee’s most recent release you can also find their work on albums such as TVXQ’s Tense, as the duo composed and arranged Moonlight Fantasy.

Coach created a live remix of Everybody on the Novation Launchpad controller, a synthesizer which has 64 launch pads with 3 different coloured LEDs for triggering loops and sound effects on the computer system it is linked to. It had its own professional sound library but DJs an add their own sounds.
