Today’s Friday food post is inspired by a free event happening at the Korean Culture Centre UK tomorrow, so if it whets your appetite drop them an email pronto!
Sushi and spice fans can’t find a better combo of the two than the Korean summer dish of Whe Dop Bap. It’s a mix of fresh raw fish, rice, and salad leaves, with a dash of hot pepper sauce. You can use any combination of fish- salmon, tuna and squid are the most common, and add as much spice as you can handle!
Eating spicy foods is a great way to beat summer heat- or create some. A great side dish to pair with Whe Dop Bap is the cooling Oh-nee Neng-guk, chilled cucumber-based soup.
The dishes are both simple to prepare, and you can see and taste both at the KCCUK Korean Summer Cooking Class tomorrow (July 18) in London.
Chef and author Jordan Bouke will prepare both dishes.
Time: 12.30pm-2pm
Venue: Le Cordon Bleu London, 15 Bloomsbury Square, WC1A 2LS
