Great news for UK k-pop fans who want to delve into Korean culture! The Korean Cultural Centre UK has just announced that applications for the 14th K-Pop Academy are now open!

Running since 2012, the KCC’s k-pop academy has now given hundreds of students the opportunity to learn more about Korean culture alongside fellow k-pop fans. This has ranged from the history of Korea and it’s traditions right up to modern day pop culture, giving students a chance to try out cooking, dancing and even hanbok. Classes have welcomed professors from SOAS, veterans of the Korean war and Team LOKO over the years and will no doubt offer just as many new and exciting experiences over this year’s course. Not to mention the friendships that are made between those of each class. Graduates always take away not just more knowledge, but fantastic memories too.

You have to be over 16 and be able to travel to the Korean Cultural Centre in London for the duration of the academy. It will be taking place between 25th August – 27th October on Saturday afternoons. ANd best of all, it’s completely free to attend!

Places are limited, however, and competition is fierce! If you want to be in with a chance of attending, then you’ll need to get your application in before 18th August and no later. Be sure to visit the KCC website to find the form and fill it out now if you’re interested. Send the completed forms by email to the KCC.

If we still have yet to convince you, check out the amazing schedules previous years were part of or read through the blog of one the students of the 7th k-pop academy!
