There had been a prolonged wait for those who had been patiently keeping tabs on any news related to CL releasing her long-awaited album ‘Alpha’.

The solo artist has since dropped a handful of music releases after she parted away from her former company back in 2019. For instance, her EP ‘In the Name of Love’, she was also featured in a selection of collaborative tracks with DPR Ian and DPR Live for ‘No Blueberries’ in 2020 and with Epik High and Zico on the song ‘Rosario’ this year.

In addition, CL teased her fans with a few pieces of her album with ‘Hwa’ and ‘5 Star’ towards the end of last year when the release of ‘Alpha’ got pushed back. She later went on to continue her promotions with ‘Spicy’ and ‘Lover Like Me’ earlier this year.

The studio album had its official release date on October 20th 2021, the tracklist includes a total of eleven songs including her current title track ‘Tie a Cherry’. Since it has been pushed out into the world, it has achieved at least 17 #1‘s from Denmark, Greece, Portugal, swden, Turkey and more.

In the UK, the album went up to #on the album chart. It’s most certainly an encouraging sign that even after all these years, despite her sporatic absences due to a multitude of reasons, there’s still supporters from all around the world cheering her on.
