BIGBANG recently announced that they were to be holding a world tour titled ‘BIGBANG Alive Tour 2012’, check out more info below the cut.
From March 2nd to the 4th, BIGBANG will kick off their world tour in Korea in the Seoul Olympic Park Gymnastic Stadium. Following which, the tour will continue across the globe into 16 countries and 25 cities, in Asia, North America, South America, and Europe.
Since BIGBANG recently won the “Worldwide Act Award” during Europe’s MTV Music Awards (EMA), they were able to see the passion of their fans in the UK, could this be a potential concert? After BEAST backed out on us last month, we can only hope that if they do plan to stop here then they’ll stick with their plans.
The boys will be working with Live Nation, who also worked with Cube for last December’s United Cube concert in London. Live Nation seems to be becoming the face for K-pop concert promotions.
Live Nation’s president, Alan Ridgeway, stated, “We are very happy that we are working with YG Entertainment and Big Bang to show [our work]to worldwide K-pop fans. If this performance is a good starting point for the Korea branch we established last December, we expect it to contribute to the K-pop fever expansion.”
The tour will be produced by the director of Lady Gaga’s ‘The Monsterball Tour’, who also choreographed ‘Poker Face’, ‘Judas’ and ‘Telephone’. She has also worked with other top stars such as Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Beyonce and Katy Perry. She goes by the name Laurieann Gibson and by the sounds of her CV, BIGBANG’s tour is going to be mind blowing.
Leroy Bennett will be working on the stage design and lighting for the tour, he has previously worked with Madonna, Paul McCartney, and The Eagles. Then there’s Ken Van Druten, who will work as the sound director. He has on the other hand has previously helped artists such as Eminem, J-Jay, and Linkin Park. Lastly, the visual contents producing team, Possible Productions, will also join in preparing for BIGBANG’s World Tour.
YG Entertainment is gearing up to present BIGBANG to their international fans for the first time, and with a new album set to drop on the 29th of February, they also hope to showcase their true talents across the globe.
