Last year in June, SHINee took a trip to London to perform at Abbey Road Studios for a group of selected lucky Japanese fans in order to celebrate their debut in Japan. Abbey Road Studios is famous and well known for being the studio of which legendary band The Beatles used. Recently, the CEO of the studios has drawn attention for his remark that SHINee’s visit reminded him of The Beatles themselves.
Abbey Road Studios was established in 1931, and is known to be the location where The Beatles recorded most of their songs. The band’s famous ‘Abbey Road‘ album jacket was a photo taken at a crossroad right outside the studio. The street has been drawing in tourists around the world for a long time, and people still visit the crossroad today. The members of SHINee – sans Jonghyun – even took a photo on the crossroad parodying The Beatles’ pose on their ‘Abbey Road’ album jacket.
Singer Bae Chul Soo recently traveled to London to meet with the CEO of Abbey Road Studios. The CEO said, “It was the first time so many people had gathered outside the studio. I thought the Beatles had come back.” upon reflecting on SHINee’s visit to the studio. Bae Chul Soo will also be releasing ‘Bae Chul Soo crosses Abbey Road‘ through MBC Music this month.
SHINee were the first Asian musician to hold a showcase at Abbey Road studios, and hundreds of UK fans crowded outside the studios in order to catch a glimpse of the boys.
“London is an extremely beautiful city for those who love pop music,” Bae Chul Soo said. “2012 marks the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ debut, and is also the year the Olympics will be held in London, so this vacation will be quite meaningful.”
Bae Chul Soo’s unique London experience will be broadcasted on April 26th through MBC Music.
