Beenzino

Although the snow in most parts of the UK has long gone, the cold temperatures and rain still remain which is enough to put a damper on anyone’s day, however never fear because Undersoundz and UnitedKpop are here to recommend you a ‘feel good’ Korean hip hop playlist for when you are feeling under the weather! This playlist can be used for when you’re getting ready to go out, while you’re travelling or when you’re just sitting indoors and chilling, whatever you are doing there is one guarantee – this playlist will lift your spirits and get you in a good mood! So without further ado, this is my list of ten K-hiphop feel good songs!

1. Beenzino – Boogie On and On

[embedplusvideo height=”365″ width=”450″ standard=”http://www.youtube.com/v/yc9a7c0Kazc?fs=1″ vars=”ytid=yc9a7c0Kazc&width=450&height=365&start=&stop=&rs=w&hd=0&autoplay=0&react=1&chapters=&notes=” id=”ep6469″ /]

Beenzino is one of my favourite rappers and I really like how he mixes soft sounds with funky beats and a fast flow of lyrics. This is definitely shown throughout his first solo album 2 4: 2 6! I chose Boogie On and On for this playlist because just everything about it (the words, Beenzino’s vocals, the hook, the looped rhythm etc) states that listeners are going to have a good time while this song is playing. It’s perfect in getting people geared up for a night out or playing in the background while you’re working or want to wind down with your friends.

2. Untouchable and Jiggy Fellaz – Jiggy Get Down

[embedplusvideo height=”365″ width=”450″ standard=”http://www.youtube.com/v/axy4d2va7RM” vars=”ytid=axy4d2va7RM&width=450&height=365&start=&stop=&rs=w&hd=0&autoplay=0&react=1&chapters=&notes=” id=”ep6469″ /]

If you are a fan of heavy hip hop bass beats, then you’re going to love this song! TS Entertainment’s hip hop duo Untouchable who are currently serving in the army, were members of popular underground hip hop crew Jiggy Fellaz. I love both groups because their collaborations are awesome and feature some of the best rappers! Jiggy Get Down is hardcore and holds a badass sound and can definitely make you feel like you’re on top of the world. I often listen to this when I need encouragement or forget a stressful day.

3. i11evn – Nibikini

[embedplusvideo height=”365″ width=”450″ standard=”http://www.youtube.com/v/-tMzTb2ogE0″ vars=”ytid=-tMzTb2ogE0&width=450&height=365&start=&stop=&rs=w&hd=0&autoplay=0&react=1&chapters=&notes=” id=”ep6469″ /]

I really miss i11evn and I hope he returns to the music scene soon! However, whenever I listen to his previous works I always feel refreshed. Nibikini is from his first mixtape That Boy’s Mixtape and can whisk you away to a more summer-like image. I feel that this song can make you power through any errands you need to run or any work you need to complete so I usually put this on in the background while I’m being productive!

4. Bizniz featuring Psychoban, Deepflow and Hanhae of PHANTOM – Tweet Tweet

[embedplusvideo height=”365″ width=”450″ standard=”http://www.youtube.com/v/A-24Tzij7L0″ vars=”ytid=A-24Tzij7L0&width=450&height=365&start=&stop=&rs=w&hd=0&autoplay=0&react=1&chapters=&notes=” id=”ep6469″ /]

Bizniz is really good at gathering a bunch of artists together so that they can work on another one of his brilliant, creative music projects. Tweet Tweet shows a comical side to these rappers and it definitely sent fans all around the world crazy, increasing the guys’ popularity on a range of social networks. The chorus which is done by Psychoban is definitely catchy and will not leave your mind for days…

5. Primary featuring Gaeko and Zion. T – 씨스루 (See Through)

[embedplusvideo height=”365″ width=”450″ standard=”http://www.youtube.com/v/AcEuJSqRigo” vars=”ytid=AcEuJSqRigo&width=450&height=365&start=&stop=&rs=w&hd=0&autoplay=0&react=1&chapters=&notes=” id=”ep6469″ /]

You can never go wrong in music when this trio come together. See Through has smooth melodies and makes me wish I could just drive with the windows down and blast this out. It’s a song that I can definitely get away with and forget all about my worries. It also gives me the feeling that I should go out and make the most of my life and just enjoy and let the good times roll!

6. Jolly V – Vs Up

[embedplusvideo height=”365″ width=”450″ standard=”http://www.youtube.com/v/C_8NHE43a4U” vars=”ytid=C_8NHE43a4U&width=450&height=365&start=&stop=&rs=w&hd=0&autoplay=0&react=1&chapters=&notes=” id=”ep6469″ /]

One of the great things about Jolly V (and also one of the many things that I love about her) is that she is always positive in thinking and encourages people to do the same. She released Vs Up as the first track from her first EP album Jotting Out Lots of Lyrics Yearning a new Vision and it is a very relaxing and laid back song. It uses jazzy elements in the sounds and simple drum beats but all of it is still very nice on the ears.

7. Soul Fish featuring Okasian, GLV, Paloalto, B-Free, Huckleberry P and Evo) – What We Do

[embedplusvideo height=”365″ width=”450″ standard=”http://www.youtube.com/v/IaFcUhmnPuQ” vars=”ytid=IaFcUhmnPuQ&width=450&height=365&start=&stop=&rs=w&hd=0&autoplay=0&react=1&chapters=&notes=” id=”ep6469″ /]

The boys from HI-LITE RECORDS never fail to amaze me. I really enjoy listening to all of their solo projects especially Paloalto and Huckleberry P; however I feel that when they work altogether, they are definitely a stronger force. This song represents them and makes me appreciate the tight friendships that I have in my life, it also reminds me to be thankful for the people who have helped me become the person I am now and I like that is has a nice reflection of their record company and crew – “that’s what we do, my life is so bright”.

8. Jerry.k featuring Innovator and Crucial Star – Gentleman’s Affair

[embedplusvideo height=”365″ width=”450″ standard=”http://www.youtube.com/v/oH6dafsnGTo” vars=”ytid=oH6dafsnGTo&width=450&height=365&start=&stop=&rs=w&hd=0&autoplay=0&react=1&chapters=&notes=” id=”ep6469″ /]

Gentleman’s Affair is another soothing jazzy track which you can wind down with. It’s a track I can find myself listening to during late hours at night, if I cannot sleep. Personally, I prefer Crucial Star in collaborations rather than his solo projects because I feel that he really showcases his own verses well when he is working with other artists. Nonetheless, he, Innovator and Jerry.k are awesome in this!

9. Kkakku featuring 8Dro – 괴롭히지마

[embedplusvideo height=”365″ width=”450″ standard=”http://www.youtube.com/v/28XaQHw1S7c” vars=”ytid=28XaQHw1S7c&width=450&height=365&start=&stop=&rs=w&hd=0&autoplay=0&react=1&chapters=&notes=” id=”ep6469″ /]

I really love the fact that Kkakku used 8Dro to be a feature on this song because 8Dro is another one of my favourite Korean musicians. I like the use of ambient sounds and the difference between Kkakku’s deep, husky voice and 8Dro’s laidback and softer vocals. If you’re roaming places by yourself, this is definitely a track you should listen to, to keep you company!

10. Youngjay featuring Roydo – 눈사람 만들러 가자

[embedplusvideo height=”365″ width=”450″ standard=”http://www.youtube.com/v/hsQffrMplyM” vars=”ytid=hsQffrMplyM&width=450&height=365&start=&stop=&rs=w&hd=0&autoplay=0&react=1&chapters=&notes=” id=”ep6469″ /]

And lastly but not least, I chose 눈사람 만들러 가자 to be a recommendation for the feel good playlist because it’s not heavy sounding and I feel Youngjay and Roydo are a nice duo and complement each other very well. Although it’s very charismatic, the song makes me feel very warm inside and happy so it’s always pleasant when I listen to this.

I hope you enjoyed my recommendations and this playlist overall! What would be on your feel good Korean hip hop list?
