This week we check out 10 dramas that I think are a must-watch if you’re a fan of K-Dramas!
In no particular order!:
I Hear Your Voice – A romantic comedy with elements of fantasy, this courtroom drama stars Lee Jong Suk and Lee Bo Young. Jong Suk plays a high school boy with the ability to read people’s thoughts by looking into their eyes, and Bo Young a public defender. Together, they team up on a series of cases, but things get messy when a murderer is freed from prison and is after the pair for something that happened years before.
That Winter, The Wind Blows – A romantic melodrama starring Jo In Sung and Song Hye Kyo. In Sung plays a con man, who pretends to be the long lost brother of a blind heiress, played by Hye Kyo, but his mission takes a back seat when they both start falling for eachother.
Shut Up Flower Boy Band – A coming-of-age high school drama about a rock boyband, Eye Candy, dealing with their passion for music, aswell as romance and friendship.
Reply 1997 – Set in the 1990’s, starring A-Pink’s Eunji and Seo In Guk, this hilarious drama moves back and forth from the past to present, whilst also examining extreme fan culture that emerged when first generation idols such as H.O.T came to the music scene. A definite must-watch!
The Innocent Man – A dark melodrama starring Song Joong Ki and Moon Chae Won about revenge. Joong Ki plays a cold-hearted bartender who plans to take revenge against his ex-lover but somehow chaebol heiress, played by Chae Won, becomes entangled in his plan and she begins to fall in love with him. However, an unfortunate car accident causes her to lose her memory and things become complicated.
City Hunter – Based on the Japanese manga, also titled City Hunter, the drama stars Lee Min Ho and Park Min Young. Min Ho plays a man on a mission to take revenge against those responsible for his fathers death, but along the way he falls for the beautiful Kim Nana, played by Min Young, something he was warned against due to the danger of his mission.
You’re Beautiful – You’re Beautiful is a romcom meets musical, starring Jang Geun Suk, Park Shin Hye, CN Blue’s Jung Yong Hwa and FT Island’s Lee Hong Gi. Shin Hye’s character is posing as her twin brother in the band, A.N.JELL, and things start to get complicated as she tries to hide her identity until her brother returns, but being the clutz she is, one of her bandmates finds out and surprisingly tries to help her.
Secret Garden – Starring Hyun Bin and Ha Ji Won, this romantic fantasy drama focuses on the strange supernatural circumstances when the two end up swapping bodies. They try to reverse whatever has happened, and along the way they begin to fall for eachother.
Coffee Prince – A romcom starring Yoon Eun Hye and Gong Yoo in which Eun Hye plays a tomboy, who dresses like a man in order to get work at a coffee shop owned by Yoo’s character, which leads to an unlikely romance between the two.
Playful Kiss – A high school drama starring Kim Hyun Joong and Jung So Min. So Min’s character plays a clumsy highschooler who is having to live with her dad’s bestfriend, who also happens to have a son her age, played by Hyun Joong. Although annoyed by her and her persistence at first, he also starts to fall for her.
