For those unfamiliar Westlife was an Irish pop group active between 1998-2012. They had many hits, including ‘Flying Without Wings’, ‘You Raise Me Up’ and their cover of ‘Uptown Girl’ (originally by Billy Joel) to name a few.

Recently, member Shane Filan guested on the South Korean show ‘Immortal Song‘ where he was treated to a rendition of a couple of Westlife songs by the Korean singer Eric Nam.

Eric sung versions of ‘My Love’ and ‘The Rose’ (the latter originally by Bette Midler, covered by Westlife).

Upon hearing it, Shane commented:

“That was really cool. He did a good cover, and he sang it like it was his own song. I want to sing this version at my concert.”
