Little under a month has passed since the resident YG girl group made their first comeback of this year with ‘Square Up‘ on June 15, the first mini-album that included the four tracks ‘DDu Du DDu Du‘, ‘Forever Young‘, ‘Really‘ and ‘See U Later‘.
A handful of broken records including some of the group’s own personal ones were left in the wake of the album, a few examples being that the M/V is officially the fastest viewed Korean video on YouTube and that Blackpink is the highest charting Korean girl group on both the UK iTunes chart at #2 and on the Official Song Chart at #78, making them the first K-Pop girl group to enter the UK chart.
Recently, the British singer Charli XCX tweeted a request for recommendations for her playlist on Spotify. She later went on to update with a special shout-out to Blackpink, with their song ‘See U Later’ making a feature! You can see the full playlist here.
