One of the UK’s most popular comedians, Russell Howard, has a number of successful tv shows under his belt. For years Howard has spoken about his mum, Ninette Howard, in his comedy, so it seemed no surprise when he finally set off on a travel road trip with his mum for a Comedy Central docuseries in 2016.

The first two series of Russell Howard & Mum: USA Road Trip saw them learning to be Hip Hop stars, judging the Miss Globe Beauty Pageant, and hunting for UFOs in America. The third series renamed Russell Howard & Mum: Globetrotters follows their travels around South East Asia and India.

In Episode three Russell and the ‘twinkly-eyed smasher’ that is his mum Ninette visit South Korea. Comedy must run in the family as Ninette is naturally funny in her response to unfamiliar situations, even when she doesn’t intend to be (Sister Kerry is also a comedian).

During the episode, they fight virtual zombies at the Dongdaemun VR Arcade and even control a robot.

The third episode of series three of Russell Howard and Mum: Globetrotters can be rewatched on Comedy Central UK catch up. It is also available on NOWTV until 29th March – those not already subscribed to the service can take advantage of their 14-Day Entertainment Pass free-trial.
