After BIGBANG’s recent triumph at the MTV EMAs, the Hallyu Wave has made yet another splash in the global market with 2NE1 winning the ‘Best New Band’ award at the MTV Iggys. With BIGBANG and 2NE1’s recent MTV wins, Kpop is definitely on the rise across the world. Their triumphs – and the recent concerts here in the UK – highlighting the meteoric rise of the Hallyu Wave, and one can only hope that their success continues into the future.
2NE1 were crowned the ‘Best New Band in the World 2011’ by MTV Iggy, who sang only the highest praises for our badass quartet. 4 million fans across the world voted for 2NE1 for the award, and the voting efforts definitely paid off.
So with two worldwide recognised wins and several concerts in the UK under our belt for Kpop, this is indeed the start of the Kpop revolution. We can’t let them down now!
