Seoul Fashion Week, held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza from March 21 – 26, saw a total of 81 fashion shows and a model appearance from EXO. The collections attracted spectators from all over the world, with this particular Fashion Week held with as much prestige as the London, Milan, New York and Paris events. Known for its influential and on-point fashions, where better to showcase the work of emerging and established Asian designers than Seoul?
EXO fluidly transcended their stage appearances, some of the members presenting a special performance on the runway. The opening event married music with fashion, with the whole group showcasing their dancing and vocal abilities while at the same time wearing new fashions from Byungmun Seo. As expected it was the tallest of the members who stood on the runway with the models, the show featuring Kai, Sehun, Tao, Kris and Chanyeol. Their appearance was part of a ‘Generation Next’ showcase that provides exposure for up-and-coming designers.
The clothes worn by EXO presented a mature, masculine look of structured, monochrome pieces with accents of leather and studs. The result was a clean collection that fused EXO’s hiphop style with formal, cutting edge menswear.
Among some of the fashionista celebrities who attended the shows are Son Dam Bi, f(x)’s Victoria and Miss A’s Jia and Fei. All the attendees turned out in high-fashions, stepping onto the red carpet fashion-feet first. Many sported clothing from the collections of appearing designers, promoting the brands as ambassadors. Both Victoria and Son Dam Bi were photographed in Lucky Chouette, a popular casual (and expensive!) brand in South Korea.
