K-pop has been recieving a lot of media attention recently thanks to Euny Hong’s book, ‘The Birth of Korean Cool’.

On August 20th, Euny Hong appeared on BBC News to talk about her book and explains how Korean pop culture works. She briefly touches on the trainee life of young idols-to-be and the success of K-dramas overseas, as well as Korea’s financial situation before the Hallyu wave.
