Welcome back to this week’s Fun Story! This week we bring K-Pop news over to America where a certain 2NE1 member is rumored to be working with the famous Black Eyed Peas!
2NE1’s CL is getting ready for her solo debut in America and just recently it had been reported that CL is working with British indie band ‘Florence and the Machine’, and it seems like the 2NE1 will be having a busy year and what more interesting way is there to kick that off than the possibility of her joining the Black Eyed Peas for their latest album?
Earlier this month, will.i.am announced news of the group’s upcoming new album however it would be a particularly special one seeing at it is the Black Eyed Peas’ 20th anniversary.
However Fergie confirmed that she would not be a part of the group’s album this year, choosing to alternatively focus on her solo career following the release of her latest song ‘LA.LOVE (la la)’ saying ‘I was just in the studio last week and I saw Taboo there, and I heard something Will was doing and it was great. But maybe the guys are doing something? I haven’t been in the group for 20 years, so it’s more their anniversary of being together for 20 years. So maybe they’re putting out an album themselves.”
Hence it was only last week when will.i.am tweeted the 2NE1 member saying ‘We need to collaborate with you on the new [Black Eyed Peas] release.’
Although it isn’t certain whether it is a simple collaboration or a temporary replacement for Fergie on the album but CL nevertheless happily responded to the tweet saying ‘Yay! Let’s go!’
The two have been known to have worked together in the past noticably for the song ‘Gettin’ Dumb’ from will.i.am’s previous album #willpower, it seems like this is the most interesting option to benefit both CL with her American debut and the Black Eyed Peas!

Black Eyed Peas have also been known to have performed with CL during the MAMA awards back in 2011 amongst doing other performances together, the collaboration should be something to look forward to!

CL is currently working towards her much anticipated debut in the United States from not only Blackjacks and Kpop fans but from fans of music all over the world. Working with Scooter Braun, the manager behind Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, it looks like we should expect a fantastic debut!
