Korean acts set to play Glastonbury Festival

Glastonbury is just over a week away, and it’s exciting to see Korean acts once again taking to their stages. Between Wednesday June 24 and Sunday 28th the fields of Pilton, Somerset come alive with music. Glastonbury Festival is the largest of the world’s greenfield music and performing arts festivals. It combines all aspects of being at a festival in one place, and is considered the world’s most famous music festival.

Thursday’s line up for the Silver Hayes area of the festival, particularly the Pussy Parlure stage, includes three Korean artists. Glastonbury describe this year’s Pussy Parlure stage to be:

continuing its innovative programme of new and breaking acts and carefully sourced artists from across the globe. 

Gonne Choi, and her ‘gently strummed Joni-folk‘, played Glastonbury in 2014, and returns again this year to play a set at 19:30 – 20:45.
You’ll also see Gonne Choi on the Silver Hayes Gully stage between 13:30 – 14:30 on Friday.

Idiotape, an electronic trio, will bring ‘plenty of bleeps and swishy soundwaves plus live drums’ from 22:00 – 22:50. Idiotape will go on to play a whole host of festivals in Europe after Glasto.
Kpop fans might know Idiotape, they were one of the alternate acts to take part in the SMxVU SHINee Everybody Remix project.

Juck Juck Grunzie, a ‘wired Korean grunge quartet playing slo-mo sludgecore‘, take to the stage between 00:40 – 01:40. It is interesting to note that three quarters of Juck Juck Grunzie are female and their grunge-punk stylings have often had them compared to the likes of Bikini Kill.
The group will also play the Silver Hayes Gully stage on Friday, from 15:00 – 16:00.
