You may have seen that our past Weekly Idols have involved various Produce 101 Season 2 participants such as Wanna One, Samuel Kim and Hotshot. To add to our current trend, for this week’s ‘Weekly Idol’ we will be talking about ‘Jeong Sewoon‘!
Jeong Sewoon who placed 12th out of 101 members just missed out on placing in the top 11 contestants who became the final group, Wanna One! Despite missing out on the top 11, Sewoon recently debuted on the 31st of August 2017 under Starship Entertainment. For his debut, he released his first title track ‘Just U‘ featuring Sik-K! The track was produced by the notable Groovy Room!
Along with his title track, he also released his 1st mini album, ‘Ever‘. The album features numerous tracks, including collaborations with Gwanghyun and Brother Su. In preparation for his debut, Sewoon released a preview for his 1st album, along with a music film!
As he is best known as a participant of Produce 101 Season 2, it wouldn’t be right if we didn’t include a few clips from his Produce 101 S2 days! For his first audition for the series, he performed Maroon 5’s ‘Sugar’ with his labelmate, Lee Gwanghyun (whom he collaborated with for his album – You may recognise Lee Gwanghyun from Boys24!)
As well as being a participant of Produce 101 Season 2, he also participated in Kpop Star 3! For Kpop Star 3 audition, Jeong Sewoon performed a self-composed song called ‘Mom, wait…’ – You can watch the English subtitled version of his performance here.
He also went on a special busking tour called the ‘Love Busking’ tour where he performed Shawn Mendes’ ‘Mercy’. Starship Entertainment revealed a special clip from his Love Busking tour for his fans.
