It’s another month, and another intriguing round up of K-Pop news. April has seen history being made with peace talks in motion between North and South Korea but there has been much more slowly making waves below the historic negotiations. For a full round up on this and how K-Pop may be one of the things unifying the nation together, check out our Op-Ed here and share your opinions with us on social media. However, for this month’s news round-up, we are looking deeper into the music and bringing you three of the biggest headlines .
01. BTS is coming to the UK!
Stop every press as London will soon be going Beyond The Scene. That’s right! Not only are we looking forward to the next “Love Yourself” comeback & the World TV Premiere of their new single on the Billboard Music Awards; but BTS will be touring across the world this year. In October, the group will be beginning the European leg of the Love Yourself World Tour in London’s O2 Arena with two nights of exhilarating performances and high energy. For more information as they are revealed, make sure that you are following our official updates via Twitter and Facebook and get ready for BTS on the 9th and 10th October.
02. Netizens turn their nose at APink “surgery” rumours.
If only we were making a witty pun but Namjoo of APink’s more slim features have not been met well by fans. When the group was attended an endorsement event, real time searches seemed to be more interested in Namjoo, who appeared to have a different face shape and suspected plastic surgery on her nose and eyes. Many reporters have commented that the rumours gathered more attention towards APink’s fan song “Miracle” and Pink Cinema fan meeting but Plan A Entertainment are refusing to comment on the situation, stating that “There is nothing to say.”
03. Embrace the LOONAverse
At long last, the year wait is nearly over. Since 2017, we have been treated with twelve different girls from the pre-debut group, LOONA; each releasing their own solo song. Now that all members have been revealed to the public, we are close to their official debut as a group but there is one last release still to come. Each member is part of their own sub-unit; LOONA 1/3 (Heejin, Hyunjin, Haseul, Vivi and later Yeojin), ODD EYE CIRCLE (Kim Lip, JinSoul & Choerry) and now yyxy, consisting of the four remaining members; Yves, Chuu, Go Won and Olivia Hye. Their concept is being described as girls who denied Eden, which is far step away from the previous sub-unit concepts. With all the pieces soon put together, it will be interesting to see how everything falls into the dubbed “LOONAverse” but we just have to wait until May to find out for sure as the countdown has officially begun.
