Ten members, whose debut was on the tenth day of the tenth month: welcome to new Cube Entertainment’s new boys Pentagon!
The boys are Jinho, Hui, Hongseok, E’Dawn, Shinwon, Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino and Wooseok(maknae).
Prior to debut, the guys had to take part in an Mnet reality show Pentagon Maker, where Cube Entertainment managers rated them on five idol elements: vocal/rap, talent, dance, mind and teamwork. The general public was also able to vote and help the boys win points via Naver. While three members were ‘eliminated’ by the show, they still got to debut as part of the group.
Hongseok is no stranger to the reality TV rounds, as prior to this he took part in YG Entertainment’s show Mix & Match, almost debuting with iKON. Jinho also jumped labels – he was previously with SM Entertainment, and took part in SM The Ballad Vol 1, but felt the label and him weren’t well matched. Hui and E’Dawn both auditioned for JYP in the past. The band is also multilingual, with Yuto being a native Japanese speaker, and Yan An being a native Chinese speaker.
