The MTV Europe Music Awards have been around since 1994 and are regarded as a monumental accolade for music artists around the world. And this year many Korean groups have been nominated for some awards!
It’s no surprise that BTS are nominated for the “Biggest Fans” award alongside stars such as Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift. The group have created a buzz worldwide following their most recent album and world tour, and are now one of the most talked about artists of 2018. MTV have yet to announce how to vote for BTS in this category (it’ll most likely be through some form of social media), but you can stay updated here.
The other Kpop artists that have been nominated are nominated for the “Best Korea Act” award. The nominees are (G)-idle, Cosmic Girls, Golden Child, Loona and Pentagon! This award was first given in 2013 to EXO and has been running ever since. It has also been won by BTS, GFriend and twice by B.A.P. You have nine days left to vote for this award and can do so here.
The ceremony will be held on November 4th in Bilbao, Spain. The show will be hosted by Hailee Steinfeld and should be broadcast on MTV UK.
