If you’re someone who is just getting into Korean skincare, the term sleeping pack may be new to you. It is simply a “pack”/mask which you leave on your skin overnight.

Laneige states: “Night time skin transmission (permeability) shows higher rate than the one in the day time. Applying it right before sleep time, the best state for the skin transmission according to the skin circadian rhythm, maximizes the efficiency of overnight water supply. The function of skin remarkably declines in the night time. Enriched with Beta-glucan, Water Sleeping Pack_EX deeply hydrates fatigue and dry skin while Ceramide SLN formula strengthens the skin barrier. With containing the Snow Water, it helps to keep your skin look more crystal clear and vitalized.
– Antioxidant effect of Hunza Apricot Extracts helps brighten skin tone evenly by removing harmful oxygen and purifying skin.
– Recoverine from Chestnuts promotes turnovers of horny layers to remove dead cells away for vigorous water supply and sleek skin texture.
– An aromatic essence compound exclusively developed by AMOREPACIFIC, Sleepscent™, helps to relax your mind and body and derive for a good sleep. A good sleep effect allowing sufficient relaxation eventually reinforces skin restoration for healthier skin condition. Essential oils from Orange Flower, Rose, Ylang Ylang, Sandal Wood etc. are contained in the Sleepscent™.
– Light gel-type texture without stickiness but moisture leaves you a comfortable sleep.”

This product is currently going for £16 on YesStyle, which isn’t too bad for 80 ml, and it comes with a handy little spatula to apply it. You only need a tiny amount as the consistency is a light gel-type which spreads easily over the entire face, not leaving a heavy or greasy feeling afterwards. The smell is mild and pleasant which indicates to me that it’s not overloaded with fragrances. It does, indeed, provide hydration and the gel is very smooth and cooling. The product is for all skin types so even if you’re not looking for anything specific, this product does just generally give your skin a glowing boost. It is supposed to be applied 1-2 times a week, so if your skin is looking a little dull, or you’ve got something important the next day, this might just be that quick boost to brighten your skin. Usually, the morning after I’ve applied it, my skin does feel a lot softer and plump without any greasy residue and continues to stay hydrated for the following days.

Personally, I think this is a great product as an add-on to your skincare, if you do have one, and even if you don’t you can still use it to relieve dry skin and provide that extra hydration which might be a good idea especially since winter is approaching. It’s definitely a uni-sex product since it’s so lightweight and the scent is mild – I’d say it’d work just as well as men’s skincare.

Also, if like me, you are using any intensive acne treatments which have the tendency to cause flaking, this handy little jar will prove to be useful in resorting hydration.

I’m not saying this product is going to cure all your problems, it might not even do anything, but it might be a good idea to try a little sample pot (which are available online) to see what it does for your skin, because personally I was not disappointed.
