Calling all K-Drama fans! Amazon have teamed up with Bandai Namco Entertainment and Interactive Media Mix (IMX) to produce an exclusive drama based on the highly popular arcade game, Idolm@ster.
As you may have guessed, the live-action series will revolve around South Korea’s pop-culture phenomenon. Idolm@ster.KR will feature aspiring K-pop stars, playing themselves, in this highly anticipated drama series.
Head of content at Amazon’s Asia Pacific Prime Video, James Farrell said, “The Idolm@ster.KR is the perfect combination of Japanese idol culture and Korean drama power. The idols include K-pop sirens, as well as Japanese and other international singers, and we’re confident that The Idolm@ster fans and viewers alike all over the world will become addicted to watching their careers bloom.”
The official website lists the idols as: Halla (The Ark), Jane (The Ark), Kwon Ha Seo, Hur Young Joo, Lee Jee Won, Hanabyeol, Lee Ye Eun, Mint (Tiny-G), Sori and Yukika Teramoto. The cast has both K-Pop and J-Pop idols. The group will be releasing music through their YouTube channel making this drama one of a kind!
