The Rose are a newly-formed Korean-indie group who have recently debuted under J&Star Company. They debuted on the 3rd of August with their debut song ‘Sorry’. Their debut song ‘Sorry’ was written, composed and arranged by the members themselves. The Rose consists of 4 members: Woosung (Sammy), Dojoon (Leo), Hajoon (Dylan) and Jaehyeong (Jeff).
Why are they called ‘The Rose’?
As explained by Woosung:
“It’s a name to show music that coexisted with the beauty of flowers and the sharpness of thorns”

How was ‘The Rose’ formed?
Originally, Dojoon, Jaehyeong and Hajoon collaborated to form the busking group ‘Windfall’. Dojoon was originally a trainee, but was in contact with Jaehyeong during his trainee days. After Dojoon left his company, Jaehyeong contacted him once again, which led to him joining Jaehyeong and Hajoon to form ‘Windfall’. Woosung was additionally added to the group to form ‘The Rose’.

Despite, currently only having one song released, the band have participated in various TV shows and are known for busking pre-debut. Woosung is best known as a participant in ‘K-Pop Star 1’ whilst his co-members, Dojoon, Hajoon and Jaehyeong have previously featured in the Korean drama, ‘Entertainer’ as well as Eddy Kim’s ‘Coffee and Tea‘.

- Woosung is friends with DAY6’s Jae and K.A.R.D’s BM.
- Dojoon lived in New Zealand for 5 years and is fluent in English.
- Hajoon loves Taeyeon’s music and would love to collaborate with her one day!
- Jaehyeong is a great cook and is said to be the mum of the group.
- Woosung played American Football since junior school but after he entered high school he dislocated his shoulder which led him to doing music.
- Dojoon’s role model and favourite singer is Jason Mraz.
- Hajoon’s special talent is his ability to mimick people.
- Jaehyeong is a huge fan of Coldplay!
