When I saw that Netflix was regularly releasing and updating “A Korean Odyssey”, I don’t think I could have been much more excited.

The show is still on-going and is set to finish airing in South Korea in early March. The synopsis, for now, is as follows:

It is 2017, and Son Oh-Gong (A powerful God exiled to the human world) and King Wooma are in a state of conflict with each other as they attempt to find hope in a world filled with darkness. Look no further than Seon-mi, a woman who Son Oh-Gong first contacted over two and a half decades earlier. In the meeting, she was offered help from the God, but only if she released him from the human world. When the two meet again, Son Oh-Gong can’t help but feel protective over the little girl he first encountered many years ago.

This fantasy rom-com throws a little bit of horror into the mix (for good measure, of course). In fact, it’s a bit like a box of sweet and salted popcorn; it truly offers the best of both worlds. With an original soundtrack featuring the likes of NU’EST W, Suran and AOA, this show is not here to play. It is a beast that has only been half released, and the viewers are eager to see what havoc it will wreck.

Starring Lee Seung-gi, Cha Seung-won, Oh Yeon-seo, Lee Hong-gi and Jang Gwang, the drama offers a really broad mixture of genres, as these actors have performed a wide variety of roles. This is undoubtedly helping it stay new and refreshing. In fact, this is one of my favourite shows to date. Sign into Netflix and get watching!
