BTS have been announced as the winners of 2020’s IFPI Global Recording Artist of the Year.
The group’s win marks their first ever IFIP award, and it also makes them the first Korean artist to win the award. They are also the first artist to win that perform in a language that is not English. This is a monumental achievement for BTS, and for the Kpop industry as a whole.
The IFIP, also known as the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, is an international organisation that represents recording artists worldwide.
BTS ranked at number 7 in the 2018 Global Artist Chart, and were number 2 in 2017.

No doubt, BTS have great things in store for their fans in the coming months. We will just have to wait and see! In the meantime, why not watch the MV to one of their older tracks, “Blood, Sweat and Tears”.
