[Release Round Up] 28/06/2021 – 04/07/2021

We’ve jumped into July, leaving June behind. This week has been a very eventful one in terms of releases – here’s a few of our favourites:

2PM – Make It

2PM are at this point the ‘oldies’ in the KPop game, but it would never show on this new release. It’s a very typical song about finding someone attractive at first sight and wanting to make a move on them. However, the music video is exploding (quite literally) with fun.

Epik High ft. Colde – Rain Song

Epik High, at least in my books, never fail to come back strong. Rain Song is no exception, and with the current weather, it works well in the UK too! A slower, softer track from the group that appears to have captured the interest of many first time listeners. That’s definitely for the best – it’s already proving to be a classic and timeless song.

BDC – Moonlight

Without a doubt the underdog of this week’s selection, but no less worthy of a position of our top picks. It’s a well-executed song, with a breezy sound and soft yet crisp vocals to go with. When the chorus starts up with the synth chords, it has a very strong 70s sound with a modern breakdown which provides an exciting twist. The music video, focusing on shapes, textures and colours as opposed to explicit storytelling, compliments it excellently.
