For the first June segment of Fan Talents, we’re looking at K-Tigers TV! For those who may not know about them, it consists of a taekwondo group from South Korea, which was founded in 1990 according to their Facebook page. Though, they branched off to start a YouTube account in 2011, which was the start of promoting taekwondo (a Korean form of martial arts) and their group of talented students to the rest of the world!

Here’s a few facts about taekwondo!

1. Taekwondo comes from the Korean word “Tae” meaning foot, “Kwon” meaning fist and “Do” meaning way of. So, in the literal sense Taekwondo means “the way of the foot and fist“.

2. It is practiced by more than 70 million people worldwide.

3. Taekwondo has been one of only two Asian martial arts that are included in the Olympic Games since 2000.

4. Tae Kwon Do has been around for over 2,000 years but was only officially established in 1955.

So at the present time in 2015, K-Tigers TV has ranked up a total of 25,110,228 views and 227,924 subscribers! If you haven’t checked them out yet, here’s a few examples of their videos below! Starting off with a Crayon Pop cover, their very first K-pop dance mixed with their own unique flare! I think something that would be definitely be interesting to see in the future would be some more girl group covers by this group done ‘K-Tigers Taekwondo style’!
