Siwon from Super Junior visited London back in January and Poseidon is a crime investigation drama of which he is part of the main cast. The cast also contains the likes of Yunho from TVXQ and Lee Si Young which starred in Boys Over Flowers and Mischievous Kiss.
The word ‘Poseidon’ means the God of the Sea and this relates to the drama as it revolves around the major investigation of a team of coastal guards, it is also the name given to this unit. Their mission was to capture the crime boss Choi Hee Gon and as they do so they also reveal many deep secrets.
Using the strong bonds of humanity as a basis for their actions, and through the challenges faced by the protagonists and their spirit of self-sacrifice, the drama movingly shows the significance of life and the stories of how people overcome obstacles in life.
Good Points
– The boxing skills of Soo Yoon ( Lee Si Young) portrayed in the drama was impressive. Maybe this was because alongside being an actress, she is also a champion level female amateur boxer that have won many titles.
– The cast is impressive. Many Kpop fans would enjoy watching this drama as it contains both Siwon and Yunho. Their acting skills were also great, totally not what expected from singers.
– Has both action and romance as well as some humorous moments. Will get you excited, teary as well as laughing through out.
Bad Points
– TVXQ fans would be disappointed with such little screen time Yunho had. He did not even come back at the end of the drama after his mysterious vacation and this left us hanging as to where he went. Too much cliff hanging for fans to cope.
Overall
Poseidon is a great drama if you’ve gotten slightly tired of all the Romantic Comedies and need a slight kick of action. Fans of Siwon should definitely watch this as during the drama he is over flowing with charisma. Yunho’s fans should also watch it despite his small role as his acting was superb. The action scenes of the idols is a must-watch for fans as you’ll be able to see the other side of them.
