Davichi are a female pop-ballad duo that debuted under Core Contents Media in 2008. The members are Lee Haeri and Kang Minkyung.

The name ‘Davichi’ is said to be taken from the Korean words ‘da bichi’, meaning ‘shine over everything’. During their eight years together, they have released two studio albums (entitled ‘Amaranth’ and ‘Mystic Ballad’) and six EPs (entitled ‘Davichi in Wonderland’, ‘Innocence’, ‘Love Delight’, ‘6,7’ ‘Davichi Hug’ and ’50 x Half’). They have also made a whopping total of nine official soundtrack appearances!

Both ladies also have projects outside of Davichi, for example Minkyung has acted in dramas like ‘Vampire Idol’ (2011) and ‘Haeundae Lovers’ (2012). While Haeri has performed in the musicals ‘Tears of Heaven’ (2011), ‘Mozart, l’opera rock’ (2012) and ‘Hero’ (2014).  Both members have also performed as soloists for various tracks, many of which are collaborations with other artists.

Davichi have made many television appearances. Both have sung on ‘Immortal Song 2’, (even competing against one another). Minkyung has also guested on the programmes ‘Imagination Love Battle’, ‘Dating Alone’ and ‘ 2 Days, 1 Night’.

The duo have won sixteen awards so far, this includes at the ‘Cyworld Digital Music Awards’, ‘Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMAs)’ and the ‘Golden Disk Awards’. This is without even mentioning the plethora of wins they have achieved across the various music shows including six wins on ‘Inkigayo’ and five on ‘M! Countdown’!

Davichi have clearly been very successful so far, and with their latest MV releases ‘Love is’ and ‘Beside Me’ this month, fans can enjoy even more of the beautiful duo!
