Seungri, member of popular K-Pop group BIGBANG, makes an impressive guest appearance on Alan Walker’s new song “Ignite”, alongside Norwegian singer Julie Bergan and producer K-391. The song, released on the 11th May, already reached 3 million streams across multiple music platforms within the first 24 hours and also has reached no. 1 on Spotify in Norway (according to Alan Walker’s Instagram post)!

Reminiscent of Alan Walker’s previous releases such as “Faded” and “Alone”, the producer is able to come through with a catchy EDM instrumental and a repetitive chorus – “one touch and ignite” – beaming over an impressive beat drop. Seungri’s verse, that is towards the end of song, is completely sung in English and is remarkable in terms of its lyrical aspect:

“Diamonds are forever, but all we need is just tonight
We’re monumental tremors that can freeze the speed of life
Just like particles that’s falling from heaven all over the stars
Hear you calling for me
Hear you calling me on from afar”

The music video, despite not featuring visible appearances of Seungri (or anyone else who featured on the track), is able to paint a visually spectacular story through different locations and a diverse cast. People around the world, while being tormented by things such as bullies or daily woes, find solace in the appearance of magical headphones that suddenly appear beside them. Putting them on, they are all mysteriously transported to another location, where it seems their troubles have all left them.
